NULL Feb 21, 2013. #3. Hi, I know this is a few months on but I replaced the Outside Ambient Air Temp Sensor last year with no success. Reading up on it further a lot of articles mention the G89 Air Duct Sensor which works along with the outside temp sensor. This sensor is inserted into the air con unit which I believe is behind the dash.

Andwith ODIS you can check the actual temperature. Take a car for a longer drive then try to connect the diagnostics tool as soon as possible. Check the readout of Coolant temperature sensor G62 (sth like that). Should show no less than 85 *C. If it's lower, time for a new thermostat.
G89Air Intake Temp Sensor Location. Anyone know where this sensor is located. I believe there are two and looking at the part it looks like it lays inline with a duct of some description. Mine appears to be faulty as it's showing up as -50 degrees on vcds whilst scanning the HVAC module. Just trying to eliminate how much time I take to find
